【摘要】:ThispartofthisStandardspecifiesmaterial,performancerequirementsandtestmethodsforsilver-platedtableanddecorativehollowaremadeprincipallyfrommetals,andintendedforuseatoruponthediningtable.Compositionlimitsarespecifiedforthebasicmetalsforfabricationofthehollowarepriortosilver-plating.Thisstandardappliestodecorativeitemssuchasvasesandtrophiesandincludessuchitemsasjugs,dishes,tea-andcoffee-pots,traysandtureens,candlesticks,wine-coolersetc.Requirementsarespecifiedforbrass,copper,nickel-silver,pewterandstainlesssteelhollowarewithasilver-platedcoatingandforsilver-platedcastattachmentsthereto.Thethicknesslevelsofsilvercoatingsarespecifiedasfirst,secondandthirdclass,thesedepositscanalsobeprotectedbylacquer.Thestandarddoesnotapplytohollowaremadeentirelyofpreciousmetals,brass,nickel-silver,pewter,stainlesssteelorthatmadefromceramicsorglass.
