【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversnormalizedhigh-strengthlow-alloystructuralsteelplatesforwelded,riveted,orboltedconstruction.1.2Thismaterialisparticularlysuitedforserviceatlowambienttemperaturesof50F[45C]andhigherwherenotchtoughnessbetterthanthatexpectedinas-rolledmaterialofacomparablestrengthlevelisdesired.1.3Fourgrades,designatedGradesA,C,D,andE(essentiallyformerSpecificationA633withoutagradedesignation)arecoveredbythisspecification.GradeAprovidesaminimumyieldpointof42ksi[290MPa]inthicknessesthrough4in.[100mm],inclusive.GradesCandDprovideaminimumyieldpointof50ksi[345MPa]inthicknessesupto2.50in.[65mm],inclusiveand46.0ksi[315MPa]inthicknessesover2.50in.to4.0in.[65to100mm],inclusive.GradeEprovidesaminimumyieldpointof60ksi[415MPa]inthicknessesupto4.0in.[100mm],inclusiveand55ksi[380MPa]inthicknessesover4in.to6in.[100to150mm],inclusive.1.4Currentpracticenormallylimitsplatesfurnishedunderthisspecificationtothemaximumthicknessesshownin1.3.Theindividualmanufacturershouldbeconsultedonsizelimitationsforotherproductforms.1.5Whenthesteelistobewelded,itispresupposedthataweldingproceduresuitableforthegradeofsteelandintendeduseorservicewillbeutilized.SeeAppendixX3noidfoundofSpecificationA6/A6Mforinformationonweldability.1.6Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththisspecification.
